Welcome to Covenant to Life ~

This site is named after a Hebrew Blessing; L'Chayim. L'Chayim has the meaning "To Life". When spoken to another it is a wish for well-being, and a happy and prosperous life. This is also the intention of our Creator for humanity through Covenant. The entirety of the scriptures of the Tenakh and "Old" Testament of the Bible reveals this intention for the twelve tribes of Israel through a covenant relationship. Though inclusion of the gentiles in covenant is rarely mentioned in Scripture, they too are invited into the same covenant when they choose to respond.

As an example, in the 56th chapter of Isaiah, our Heavenly Father YHWH makes the following statement through the prophet Isaiah about the non-Hebrew.

56:6 Also the foreigners that join themselves to YHWH, to minister to him, and to love the name of YHWH, to be his servants, every one that keeps the Sabbath from profaning it, and holds fast to my covenant; 7) even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt-offerings and sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples. 8) The Sovereign YHWH, who gathers the outcasts of Israel says, yet will I gather others to him besides his own that are gathered.

Covenant is an exciting topic in scripture which applies to all humanity one way or another. This study stays close to scripture without a lot of interpretation. It is eye opening to explore the lives of those who had the covenants revealed to them. This series starts with Noah and ends with the "New Covenant" as comprehensively detailed in the chapters 29 thru 31 of Jeremiah.

The starting point of this journey is to learn our Creators name as he gives it. (Here's a secret: Don't tell anyone yet, but his name is comprised of four Hebrew characters which is approximately YHWH). We'll talk about that in the names series.

Our intention at the beginning of this effort three years ago was to be disciplined about carefully walking through scripture without adding or taking away. We believe this is reflected in the teaching. We have not tried to relay anyone's religious doctrine. We at CTL have attempted to glean the scriptures in full context, learn, enjoy the process, and present the information without cost in video format at a semi-professional level that is easy to view and instructive. These were our objectives…. end of story. We hope this is a rich learning experience for you. Please join us and give us your feedback.
